Con el fin de realizar un acercamiento a la consideración de “ser de calle a lo magallánico” y conocer las particularidades percibidas y las nociones construidas a partir de ellas, se realizó un estudio cualitativo a partir de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados preliminares muestran cómo los participantes en el estudio, relacionan las singularidades mencionadas con aspectos que caracterizan la vida social en la región como son los condicionamientos del territorio, los modos de vida vinculados a tareas y oficios propios de zonas geográficas de altas latitudes o de ciudades polares, así como determinadas peculiaridades de la identidad y los valores compartidos por la sociedad magallánica.</p><p><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p align="justify"><strong></strong><br />The existence of specific features in the context of the Region of Magallanes, is seen by professionals of the “Street Program” (in spanish: Programa de Calle), as a differentiator in the homeless in this region in comparison with other parts of the country and determine the need for public policies to adapt to this reality. In order to make an approach to the consideration of being “homeless people in the Magellan way” and learn about the perceived peculiarities and notions built for them, was a qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews. The preliminary results show how the participants in the study relate the singularities, mentioned above, with aspects that characterized the society in the region such as the conditionalities of the territory, the ways of life linked to tasks and occupations specific to geographical areas or high latitudes or polar cities, as well as certain peculiarities of the identity and the values shared by the Magellan society.</p> ER -
